The Manchester Museum
The Manchester Museum is home to one of the largest and most important collections of Ancient Egyptian artefacts in the United Kingdom. The collection includes objects from prehistoric Egypt (c. 10,000 BC) to the Byzantine era, up to around AD 600.

The museum also offers sessions on topics related to the National Curriculum for young people.
With over 4 million objects in its collection, reflecting all life on earth.

Every Tues & Thurs, 12-1pm Zoology students from The University of Manchester offer free tours of the Vivarium to share their knowledge of the animals and highlight the conservation and education work that the Museum and University does.

Manchester Art Gallery
The collection is made up of fine art and decorative art. The gallery is probably most famous for its Pre-Raphaelite paintings but all periods are covered, from ancient pottery to contemporary art.
Groups are welcome and don’t need to book ahead. Group talks can be arranged, however these need to be booked and there is a charge.
The schools and colleges team offer a programme of activities and learning opportunities from early years to further education colleges.
