The recent announcement by the RMT Union regarding confirmation of strike action on Saturday 8th April 2017 means there will be revised workings of services on the Mid Cheshire Line and beyond.
Trains will operate between Chester and Altrincham only but there will be a replacement bus service between Altrincham and Stockport

Note Northern tickets will NOT be accepted on Manchester Metrolink services unless booked through to Metrolink stations.
If you are considering using the Manchester Metrolink from Altrincham, through tickets can be purchased from any National Rail station to any Metrolink station (the fares can be found on www.brfares.com ).
The Manchester Wayfarer ticket, which covers rail and Metrolink, is a good option if you are travelling from Northwich and stations towards Manchester, particularly the Over 60s version for £6. The adult version is £12.
The first train to depart Chester is 0834 and the last train 1834.
The first train to depart Altrincham is 0946 and the last train 1946.
