Wednesday 19 October – Chester to the Angel in Knutsford – CANCELLED
Because of the current risk of disruptions to rail services it has reluctantly been decided to cancel the last Music Train of 2022, which was planned for Wednesday 19 October.
2022 and 2023 Music Trains
The programme in 2022 was shorter and slimmer than usual. Between May and September there were eight Music Trains to four different venues. They ran from Chester to the Golden Pheasant at Plumley, to the Angel in Knutsford, and the Railway Inn in Mobberley – and from Altrincham to Alexanders in Chester.
After a slow start the word got around that the Music Trains were back. In total almost 200 people came on eight Music Trains. It was good to welcome back regular passengers from before covid – and also to see new faces. Six Music Trains were open for everyone. We also arranged them for groups from Hale U3A and Chester Vision Support.
Next year’s Music Train programme is planned to start in April and run through to October. We look forward to seeing you then.
Groups on Music Trains
We are happy to arrange extra Music Trains for groups of 30 or more people on weekdays. They can be in the daytime or in the evening. The costs are the train ticket and a contribution to a collection for the band – there is no extra charge for arranging the Music Train or the music. Contact the CRP for more information about the possibilities and to discuss dates.
Groups are very welcome to join the ‘public’ Music Trains. If you plan to bring a group of 8 or more people on a Music Train from Chester to Plumley or Knutsford, please contact the CRP in advance about your plans so that we can agree a date or dates. That way we can avoid having too many groups on one evening. If you plan to bring a group on the Music Trains from Altrincham to Alexanders in Chester then just go ahead and book online with Alexanders. There is a maximum of 45 places available.
