The Mid Cheshire Line will be affected by Engineering Work late evenings between Monday 3rd December and Thursday 6th December 2012 (inclusive) and by service alterations over Christmas and the New Year.
The below services will be affected:
Monday 3 to Thursday 6 December:
The 2217 and 2317 Manchester Piccadilly to Chester will terminate at Greenbank with buses continuing to Cuddington, Delamere and Mouldsworth stations.
The 2248 Chester to Manchester will terminate at Stockport with a replacement bus to Manchester.
Sunday 9 December:
New Timetable starts
The timetable basically reverts back to the one, which applied until September.
So trains will in general revert to leaving Chester at 07 minutes past each hour and will depart 4 minutes later towards Manchester from stations as far as Navigation Road (inclusive).
There is however one key change from the summer timetable and two minor ones.
The key change is that on Monday to Saturday trains from the 08.07 from Chester to the 17.07 from Chester (inclusive) will call additionally at Heaton Chapel and Levenshulme stations.
We are told that arrival times into Piccadilly will not be affected as there is already enough time in the timetable to include these calls. Mid-Cheshire line trains will only call at those two stations in the direction towards Manchester.
The two other changes are as follows:
Firstly the 21.03 from Chester on Monday to Friday will depart 30 minutes later at 21.33 (as it already does on Saturdays). This will allow more time for evenings out along the line.
Secondly the first Sunday train from Chester departs 7 minutes later, at 09.01, and does not stop at Lostock Gralam or Ashley.
The change is to enable a connection at Chester from the Merseyrail Wirral line.
From 6 January to 10 February all Sunday trains from Chester will terminate at Manchester Piccadilly. Otherwise they continue to Southport (the 21.07 from Chester is to Wigan Wallgate only). Train times towards Chester are unchanged.
