Christmas and New Year Services 2012
Train services on the Mid Cheshire Line
Friday 23rd December – Normal service.
Saturday 24th December – Normal service until the last trains at 20.17 from Piccadilly and 20.07 from Chester.
Sunday 25th December and Monday 26th December – No service.
Tuesday 27th December – Normal Tuesday service.
Wednesday 28th December – Friday 30th December – Normal Services.
Saturday 31st December – Normal service until the last trains at 20.17 from Piccadilly and 20.07 from Chester.
Sunday 1st January – TRAINS WILL ONLY OPERATE BETWEEN ALTRINCHAM AND CHESTER
Due to engineering work, trains will only operate between Altrincham and Chester. A replacement bus service will operate between Altrincham and Stockport. Rail tickets from stations between Mouldsworth and Navigation Road to Manchester and beyond are valid on Metrolink on Sundays. Metrolink will only operate between 9am and 9pm on Sunday 1st January.
Trains will depart Altrincham 30 minutes later than normal, i.e. at 17 minutes past even hours, 1017 to 2217, and the 0858 from Chester will run 9 minutes later.
Monday 2nd January – Normal Monday service.
Tuesday 3rd January – Normal Tuesday service.
Note from 2nd January – 5th January 2012
The 2248 from Chester and 2217 and 2317 from Piccadilly are replaced by buses. An additional bus leaves Knutsford at 2259 for Chester and there is also an extra bus at 23.29 from Knutsford to Manchester Piccadilly
Tram services
Friday 23rd December – Normal Friday service.
Saturday 24th December – Saturday service until early finish at 9pm (last tram 21.00 from Piccadilly to Altrincham).
Sunday 25th December – No Service.
Monday 26th December – Services will run Altrincham-Bury direct (avoiding Piccadilly station) from 9am to 9pm every 12 minutes (first tram 08.58 from Altrincham, last tram 21.07 from St Peter’s Square to Altrincham), Piccadilly to Eccles via MediaCityUK 9am-9pm every 12 minutes and St Werburgh’s Road-Victoria 9am-9pm every 12 minutes.
Tuesday 27th December – Normal Tuesday service.
Wednesday 28th – Friday 30th December – Normal weekday services.
Saturday 31st December. Saturday service with last trams departing Piccadilly station as follows:
To Altrincham at 00.48, to Bury at 00.47, to Eccles via MediaCityUK 00.32.
Sunday 1st January – Sunday service between 9am and 9pm.
Monday 2nd January – Normal Monday service.
Tuesday 3rd January – Normal Tuesday service.
