Pedestrians and motorists in the city centre are being advised to be on the lookout for trams again this week – as part of testing the new Metrolink tracks.
GMPTE will be carrying out thorough testing of the city centre tracks, ahead of services returning on Monday next week.
Trams will be tested on the tracks between Manchester Victoria, Manchester Piccadilly and St Peter’s Square before Monday, but will not be carrying passengers.
Part of this schedule will also involve services continuing into the city centre. However, passengers will still need to alight at St Peter’s Square and at Victoria until testing is complete and the city centre section reopens, as planned, on Monday 2 November.
As a result, pedestrians and motorists are being advised to be aware of trams again when crossing junctions and tracks.
